Do you wake up with a headache, battle it all day long, and wish you could find a solution? Pain medications don't work. It's not allergies. When situations like this occur, it becomes very important for individuals to seek out more advanced care. For headaches and migraines, come in to see your Fargo, ND chiropractor as a first step. Our team at Dakota Clinic of Chiropractic can help you find the underlying cause of your pain and give you the support and solutions you need.
Here's the biggest concern for many men and women suffering from chronic, acute, or even infrequently headaches and migraines. They don't understand why they happen. There are many reasons for them. Some of them are due to allergies or illness. Others, though, are due to a failure in the communication system in the body – the nervous system – and the other organs, muscles, and nerves running through it.
Often, a subluxation occurs somewhere along the communication path of the nerves that lead from the body into the brain. When this happens, it means there's an area that's blocking the proper messages from moving through the nerves. This creates the pain signal. While headaches and migraines are commonly caused by subluxation or misalignment of the neck or upper spinal column, it can be caused by any type of breakdown throughout the body.
When you come in to see your chiropractor in our office, we'll first conduct a thorough examination. We need to learn where the underlying misalignment is. After gathering information about your symptoms and your overall health, well then make recommendations for care. When you come in for chiropractic care in Fargo, ND with our team for headaches and migraines, we may recommend the following types of treatment.
Chiropractic Adjustments: This works to realign the spinal column to prevent and treat the subluxation that is present there. In doing this, we can significantly improve the pain you feel. Adjustments involve applied but gentle force to the area of concern.
Massage Therapy: Often, the pain can be brought on or worsened by tense muscles and inflammation. Our massage therapy services work to restore proper blood flow to the area and speed up the healing process.
Lifestyle Changes: We'll also work with you closely to ensure that you are giving your body what it needs to operate at is best. Because we believe in a whole-body approach to wellness, a key part of our service is to offer lifestyle advice. This includes offering nutritional support and counseling services.

In 2008 I had double knee replacement and in 2012 another replacement on my left knee, doctors thinking it was the material in the replacement causing inflammation that was resulting in so much pain. That didn’t work and my pain was getting worse. I was on a lot of pain meds and after 10 years of taking them they were not working very well.
I tried everything out there that might help even going to Mayo Clinic. Nothing was working and I was giving up. I read Dr. Christenson’s ad that popped up on my iPad. It was something I’d never tried so decided to try one more time.
It didn’t work immediately but Dr. Christenson encouraged me to keep going. About a month into the procedure it started working and every week I got better and better. I can walk longer distances and climbing steps and even kneeling with very little pain.
Thank you Dr. Christenson for helping me and encouraging me to keep going. You had changed my quality of life. You have a wonderful friendly staff.
